Origami Birdcage Veil

How cute is this whimsical origami crane birdcage veil? I love how original this veil from Jye on Etsy is, it's the perfect addition to a whimsical wedding or for a Japanese themed wedding.

Incredible Colourful Ombre Wedding Cakes

No matter what your mother says, wedding cakes don't need to be white. In fact, the current trend for 2012 is for ombre cakes. Not sure what ombre means? Me either until I looked it up - apparently it's a fashion word, meaning the graduation of colour in a garment, or in this case, cake. I'm loving the tone changes, and the romantic ruffles. And if your mother insists on white, you can choose a secret, ombre interior, and surprise your guests! What are you going to choose for your wedding cake?

Real Red-Themed Countryside Wedding: Fiona & Will

If you're planning your wedding, and feeling slightly swamped by all the ideas you've got from wedding blogs like this one, focus on one thing first, namely your venue. Once you've chosen where you want to get married, and where you want to host your wedding reception, you can start to get a sense of the atmosphere of your wedding. For example, if you pick a castle, it'll probably feel more formal and elegant, while a teepee on your parents' farm would be boho and casual. Colour themes can also grow from your venue choice, like it did for this wedding at the gorgeous Compton Acres in Dorset. Just check out the gorgeous red flowers in the final picture, and you can see at least one reason why Fiona and Will chose red as their theme colour. I'm loving all the dresses in this wedding, including Fiona's divine lacy wedding gown, the bridesmaids' elegant red dresses, and even the little flower girls net skirts. Other details-to-steal include Fiona's 'I Do' stickers on the back of her wedding shoes {I had these too!}, and the ushers' matching suits and ties. Huge thanks to Tom Redman for his gorgeous wedding pictures {and extreme patience!}.

Real Weddings: Lauren + Greg

Today we have a most lovely outdoor tent wedding wedding photographed by wonderful New York wedding photographer, Kamila Harris.

A big thanks to Kamila for sharing this wedding with us, and a huge congratulations to Lauren and Greg!

From Kamila:Lauren and Greg's wedding was on a misty day in June. It rained that morning, but it just made everything look really green, lush and beautiful. Lauren got ready at home and the house was buzzing with excitement when I arrived to photograph the girls. Lauren's beautiful gown and birdcage veil, as well as the bridesmaid dresses, all had a vintage and elegant feel to them, and the bride's red shoes popped with color! I loved the yellow flowers too, which was only a taste of what was to come. Everyone was very relaxed, laughing, and excited. Then we were off to the ceremony! It was romantic and beautiful, and the moody lighting in the church added to the romance.

After the ceremony we headed to the Pearl Buck Estate for photos, and I was treated to a photographer's dream - a huge amount of space with old buildings, huge trees, and a mist in the air that looked almost enchanted. I got to spend a lot of time with the bridal party and the bride and groom, which was also a treat! We had a lot of fun exploring the space, and the bridal party was more than happy to run around in the misty grass. Such a fun group!

The reception too was incredibly romantic. The tent setup was breathtaking, and all the yellow details added subtle color to the space. The FM Band rocked the house and kept everyone dancing all night. The food was absolutely spectacular. And again the entire space was just surrounded by that misty fog that looked like something out of a fairy tale.
