A Delphine Manivet Wedding Dress

Have you chosen your wedding dress yet? My gown was by Delphine Manivet, who back then, was a relatively new designer. Now she's stocked in Browns Brides and even dressed Sarah Jessica Parker for a recent awards show in Hollywood. Her dresses are exquisite, and although they're expensive, they're not crazy-money like Vera Wang. Still - it took me a while to get used to the idea of spending so much on a dress, and the only way I could square it in my mind, was to sell it after my wedding day. That way, it got worn more than once, and the cost was halved. Well now my nanny is doing exactly the same thing! She wore the stunning Hyppolite Delphine Manivet gown on her wedding day, and she's keen to sell it to another bride. It's marked Small, so perfect for a Size 6 or 8. Do get in touch with her if you're interested, and if you're a budget-conscious bride {who isn't!}, take a look at my article Five Tips to Get Your Designer Wedding Dress for Less.

Vail Wedding Proposal - Vail Mountain Observation Deck

I hope everybody had a 'lovely' Valentine's Day last weekend. In honor of those that are lucky in love, I'm going to catch up on posting photos from some recent wedding proposals and engagement sessions. I'll start off with this very special wedding proposal on top of Vail Mountain. After a few unexpected and nail biting delays, these lovebirds made it to the top of the mountain with about 1 minute of light left in the day. Thankfully she said yes and everything worked out perfectly!

Although we only had short amount of time left with the light, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise.  We captured some great photos in the gondola on our way back to Lionshead, including the last one in this series.  This is one of my favorite pics and I think I'm going to need to put it on the slideshow on the website :)

They arrived and were taking selfies on the Observation Deck.  I was pretending to be a tourist, taking in the views.

She said yes!

Clean Out Your Closet The Vogue Way

So its that time of year. You've gone a bit mad at the sales last month and all the gorgeous new season collections are hitting the shops, but, you have one big problem. Your wardrobe is practically exploding all over the room and there's no way you'll be able to fit in all the gorgeous new pieces you've spotted. The only solution is to edit down your wardrobe and donate the excess.

Since I am in the middle of doing the same I thralled the internet for some advice and thought I'd share the best bits with you. The last ones a life saver!

You do not need 30 striped T-shirts!

Be it striped tees, black polo necks or ripped jeans, I get it we all have our own personal style uniform but if you have more than 5 of the same thing its time to edit it down.

One Vogue editor uses the One In - One Out strategy

Its simple but hard to stick with. Basically if you buy one new piece you have to get rid of one old piece.

So you've done the most of the work but your left with that pile that you just don't know what to do with! You keep making excuses as to why you need them and you need to keep them. Its time to get real. I have learned from experience, I have gotten over excited at the prospect of new clothes and have thrown out some quality pieces, one in particular sticks in my craw. Several years ago myself and my mam were cleaning out our wardrobes and I tossed a gorgeous Aran cardi that my mam had knitted a long time ago, I'll never get a piece like that back so now if its quality vintage, an investment piece or something that your mam has made for you or passed down to you I say keep it, store it, just don't throw it out!!

For all of your wardrobe detoxing dilemmas I found this amazing flow-chart on Vogue!! Its a real time saver so when you get stuck in the middle of your closet clean out use these guidelines and your bound to get it right!

Are you editing your closet? Let me know if you used any of these and if they helped!

Stunning Seaside Wedding Shoot

This incredible shoot is fresh from an amazingly talented team over on the west coast of the US, where all the best wedding trends seem to start. With a divine wedding dress by Samuelle Couture and smart nautical stationery by Feast Art and Calligraphy, plus styling by Joy Proctor of Joy de Vivre, I'd be tempted to copy every detail for my wedding! I love the combination of white calligraphy on dark blue, the vintage stamps, and the rustic hessian table cloth. I predict coloured glasses will soon become a huge trend in wedding tablescapes, and I'm pleased to see giant bouquets are still on trend. Another fun idea is a mix-your-own-cocktail trolley - as previewed by my wedding planner Kerry Bracken in her Provence wedding. Photography by the incredible Jose Villa - check out his blog for more fabulous wedding inspiration.

2 Great Protein Pancake Recipes For Pancake Tuesday

Want to indulge in some delicious pancakes but don't want to ruin your diet? I've got 2 great protein pancake recipes that taste that are better than the real thing plus they'll keep you full!

I use oat flour for my pancakes, its hard to find and expensive in Ireland so I just buy Quick Oats and put them in my coffee grinder until they turn to flour, you could also use a food processor. If your not worried about your macros or your gym diet simply use ordinary flour, omit the whey protein and use the whole egg. I promise you won't regret trying these either way!

Banana Pancakes : Makes 10 Pancakes

1 1/4 cups of oat flour (or plain flour)
1 tbsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
4 egg whites (or 4 whole eggs)
1/2 cup of ripe mashed banana
1 1/2 cups almond milk (or whatever milk you like)
2 scoops vanilla protein (you can leave this out)

In a large bowl combine all the dry ingredients, flour, sweetener, baking powder, salt and protein.
In a separate bowl whisk the eggs, add the banana and almond milk and whisk again.
Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and whisk to combine.
Spray pan with non stick spray.
Scoop batter with a 1/4 cup measure onto pan. Cook for 3 to 5 minutes on each side.
