Real Daffodil Easter Wedding with a Tiffany Blue Theme

Posted by Weddings Dresses Ideas

With Easter only a few weeks away, I wanted to treat you with this gorgeous daffodil-filled spring wedding. Millie and Nico celebrated their big day in April {Happy Anniversary!}, and their gorgeous, quintessentially English wedding is full of inspirational ideas to copy. I'm particularly loving the eggshell blue theme colour, the leather luggage-tag place markers, and the cute pageboys outfits. The stunning countryside-style flowers are simple gorgeous too. Don't miss Millie's lovely answers to the Before the Big Day Brides Questionnaire - she's got lots of advice for up-and-coming brides. Huge thanks to the lovely Hester Marriott for these gorgeous pictures.

We celebrated our wedding with a church ceremony, followed by a reception at my family home on 17th April 2010.

My shoes came from Christian Louboutin, and it was great to have a cheeky flash of red under the my ivory dress!

My wedding dress came from Philippa Lepley - she came highly recommended by a friend and she was the only person I went to see. I loved every stage of the dress-choosing process, it was utterly perfect, the girls there are wonderful.

My veil was my 'something borrowed' from my sister-in-law, and it was a wonderful silk tulle veil, with beautifully embroidered edges from Catherine Walker.

My husband wore an-all grey morning suit, made for him by Pogson and Davies, a tailor in Mayfair in London.

We were lucky enough to have the church only 100 yards from the house, which is where we had the service. We were then able to walk to the reception in a marquee in our field, where we later had the dinner and dancing!

We wanted something low key....a quintessentially English country wedding, which worked perfectly at my family home.

We didn't have a theme as such, I guess if any, it would be an English country wedding with lots of wonderful natural flowers to decorate the marquee.

Our wedding photographer was the wonderful Hester Marriott! She came recommended to my mother by a good friend, who had hired her for their own wedding.

I loved the wedding planning and the process you go through. My mother was amazing - I could not have done it without her because soon after we got engaged my husband and I moved abroad to Singapore. We had to do quite a lot of the planning in a short space of time before we moved, so many of the decisions were made long distance over Skype!

My advice to future brides would be ENJOY IT! Don't panic too much about the small details, on the day it simply won't matter, it will be the day of your dreams!

Our wedding flowers were very natural, as if they had been picked form a country garden., Lots of greenery, whites, creams, very light antique pink and with a touch of blue. The blooms included hydrangeas, lily of the valley, roses, peonies, blue grape hyacinths.

We had beautiful Tiffany-blue leather luggage tags as our place-names and wedding favours. Each place was also set with a couple of blue grape hyacinth blooms.

Neither my husband nor I like traditional fruit wedding cake, so we decided to go for a very unconventional chocolate biscuit cake, with chocolate icing over the top of the cake, which we both loved!

We decorated the wedding cake with big green hydrangeas - it was the perfect cake and there was nothing left of it after the wedding!
